Through the Midst of Art

This peice is a portriat of me, Kiya Burwell. Yet instead of settling on one medium I broke my face into circles. To me circles indentify everlasting cycles, hope, peace and life in general. Each circle within my face shares a different medium. Scratchboard, gouche paint, colored penicl, stippling, with my background being a collage. This artwork reprensents me and humanity in many ways, we are always more then what meets the surface. We all have different personalities for different everyday activites believe it or not, we all tend to wear a mask. A mask that allows us to live the life we choose everyday. Enjoy.
